Paper & pairing
Blues and navies are the most broadly "safe" fountain pen colors: legible, professional, and unlikely to raise eyebrows in an office. This ink will behave predictably on most fountain-pen-friendly paper. Cheap, highly absorbent paper (standard copier paper) will dull any ink's saturation and can cause feathering or bleed-through with wetter nibs.
About Shokido
Shokido is a small Japanese stationery maker run single-handedly by Naoki Ohashi. It is best known for its Hachimitsu (honey) series of fountain pen inks, dye-based inks designed to capture the transparent, golden look of real honey varieties such as acacia and renge, sold through its own site and Japanese pen retailers.
Storing and using the bottle
