Blues and navies are the most broadly "safe" fountain pen colors: legible, professional, and unlikely to raise eyebrows in an office. This ink will behave predictably on most fountain-pen-friendly paper. About Senator
Senator began in 1920 when Georg Merz and woodturner Justus Krell founded the writing instruments company Merz & Krell in Gross-Bieberau, Germany. The firm grew into one of Europe's leading manufacturers of promotional writing instruments, eventually adopting its Senator brand as the company name. It produces large volumes of pens, including inexpensive fountain pens, entirely in Germany.
