Reds and pinks show the most dramatic shading of any color family: expect real variation between the edges and center of each letter. This ink will behave predictably on most fountain-pen-friendly paper. Cheap, highly absorbent paper (standard copier paper) will dull any ink's saturation and can cause feathering or bleed-through with wetter nibs.

Daimaru Fujii Central (大丸藤井セントラル) is one of Japan's largest specialty stationery stores, located in central Sapporo, Hokkaido. The business traces back to 1892, when Senzo Fujii opened a paper and stationery wholesale operation in Sapporo; the current Daimaru Building housing the store was built in 1951.
