Paper & pairing
Reds and pinks show the most dramatic shading of any color family: expect real variation between the edges and center of each letter. This ink will behave predictably on most fountain-pen-friendly paper. Cheap, highly absorbent paper (standard copier paper) will dull any ink's saturation and can cause feathering or bleed-through with wetter nibs.
About Besen
Besen, also styled Besen Masterpiece, is the in-house brand of Bestpen, a pen and ink shop in Seoul, South Korea, which also trades online at bestpen.kr. Alongside its own bottled fountain pen inks it produces the jam-themed Jam Ink series, originally sold in 30 ml jam jars and later in square glass bottles. Besen also collaborates widely with other stationery companies and community figures, including joint inks with the Korean maker Wearingeul.
