Paper & pairing
Warm tones (oranges, yellows, ambers) show strong contrast between light and dark areas of each stroke, which is part of why they're popular with broader nibs. This ink will behave predictably on most fountain-pen-friendly paper. Cheap, highly absorbent paper (standard copier paper) will dull any ink's saturation and can cause feathering or bleed-through with wetter nibs.

Amarillo Stationery is a Chicago-based stationery shop run by Erick Gama, who was born in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and started the business after launching a Spanish-language stationery podcast during the COVID lockdowns. The shop curates pens, inks and paper goods with a focus on Latin American makers. It has commissioned collaboration inks with Pennonia and released its own "Amarillo Vibes" ink series.
